I'm no woman hater, says Kyle

The shock-jock speaks with Tracy Grimshaw about his perceived inability to take criticism

A DEFIANT Kyle Sandilands is set to admit on A Current Affair tonight that he can be a "b---ard" who holds grudges.

Sandilands, who has joined Channel 9 as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent, has recorded a special interview with ACA host Tracy Grimshaw.

Grimshaw quizzes Sandilands on his bad reputation and his feuds with stars including Ricki-Lee Coulter.

"I can be a real b---ard – make no mistake," Sandilands says. "A lot of people on TV are very phoney (but) I’m just me.

"I’ll say what I think. Some people I’ll argue with and some people I’ll be nice to."

Sandilands insists, however that there is a softer side to his personality – one that is obscured by the headlines.

"I’ve read that I’m a misogynist (that) I’m a women hater (that) I always attack women. It’s simply not true. I’ll say anything to anyone.

"People like to say ‘he’s a bully, let’s get him fired, let’s attack everyone that likes him’.

"I have no intentions of upsetting anybody but I might. I don’t want to see anybody break down and cry. I find that horrible. I never intend to hurt anyone’s feelings.”

Sandilands’s weight has ballooned by an estimated 30 kilograms over the past year.

"I’m fat – why can’t I make a fat joke if someone else is fat," Sandilands says in the interview.

Grimshaw confronts Sandilands about his controversial "concentration camp" fat joke aimed at comedian Magda Szubanski.

In September 2009 Sandilands was temporarily taken off the air by radio 2DayFM management for his remark, which outraged Holocaust survivors.

"I’m a Brissie boy who just mouthed off and made a fat joke," Sandilands says. "The good thing was that I went to the Jewish Museum and learned something."

Sandilands insists he doesn’t get upset by the criticism aimed at him but is capable of holding a grudge.

Sandilands details a seven-year feud with Coulter that saw the singer banned from his radio show.

"I said ‘well, I’m not playing your (Coulter’s) songs then,” Sandilands reveals. “If you don’t pat my back, I won’t pat yours.

"I will have a grudge, I will. It’s human nature. If you don’t like someone or if someone steps in your space and you don’t want anything to do with them – why should I have them on a radio show?

"It was seven years where I was running to that agenda and it was a mistake. I’ve had her on (radio show) since. (I) asked her why all this happened. She explained herself.

"I felt like a fool for holding that grudge for seven years."
