GEORGE Calombaris is aware of the mounting pressure for the next season of MasterChef, which has just started filming, after the disappointing ratings run of The Professionals spin-off this year.
Despite a strong debut MasterChef: The Professionals, featuring qualified chefs rather than regular contestants, failed to connect with viewers, and Calombaris said the challenge ahead was producing great TV for viewers.
"We all feel we have a big job ahead of us," he said.
"We all know there is a lot of hard work to do and we all have to step up. But we are all pumped, we are ready to give it our best shot."
It's the first time in five seasons that the show has not been filmed in Sydney, with a new set constructed in Melbourne.
