GAME of Thrones star Clive Mantle has had his ear bitten off after a row at a hotel.

Mantle, 55, who plays Gretjon Umber in the hit US drama and used to star in the BBC series Casualty, was attacked at a Travelodge hotel in Newcastle, in northeast England, in a dispute over noise, his agent told The Sun.

The missing part of his ear has been sewn back on.

Mantle had just finished a run in The Ladykillers at the city's Theatre Royal when he was attacked.

A spokesman for Mr Mantle's agents Sarahband Associates said surgeons at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary had managed to sew the top part of the actor's right ear back on.

He said he believed Mr Mantle was attacked in the hotel after asking other guests to keep the noise down.

A 32-year-old man from Hamilton in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, has been charged with wounding with intent.
