IT IS official. Jake and Elle Harrison are through to the My Kitchen Rules Grand Final.

The Queensland siblings will face off against the Sunshine State’s Dan and Steph Mulheron on Sunday night.

Jake and Elle are firm favourites to become the youngest team to ever win the Channel 7 cooking competition.

The pair's reputation grew even stronger tonight after they crunched Tasmanian father-son combo Mick and Matt Newell by seven points.

Mick and Matt came unstuck when their lamb main course was judged to be undercooked.

"We made a big barney with the lamb," Mick says. "Jake and Elle were better cooks but if we had got our lamb right the result would have been really close."

Matt added: "It’s fantastic to do something like this with dad. We're more friends now than father and son. I've really happy with how far we've come together."

Despite some serious bickering, Jake and Elle scored 51 out of 60 for their three-course meal.

The young team set the standard right from the first course - smoked kingfish with caper gremolata and quail egg.

Guest judge Liz Egan said the entrée was "jaw-droppingly professional".

Mick and Matt excelled with their smoked eel chowder entrée which guest judge Karen Martini described as "a real labour of love".

Guest judge Guy Grossi was also impressed. "I think the addition of the smoked eel has really added a new dimension," Grossi said.

The main courses really set the teams apart. Jake and Elle plated up a perfect confit rabbit with crumbed kidneys, polenta and herb salad.

"I wouldn't add or subtract anything," co-host Pete Evans enthused.

Mick and Matt's crusted lamb rack with parsnip puree and bullhorn pepper was undercooked.

The pair's white chocolate mousse cake with lemon curd and raspberries was a success, but by then it was too late.

Jake and Elle plated up a dessert of yoghurt panna cotta with fresh peaches and thyme syrup.

Grand Final foe Dan and Steph described their impending confrontation with Jake and Elle as "scary" after seeing the cook-off.

Mick and Matt are already winners despite crashing out tonight. The pair has scored radio gigs in Tasmania because of their My Kitchen Rules popularity.

Mick is co-host of 7HO’s new Mick and Jane breakfast show with Jane Turner. Matt recently took up a position with Sea FM.
