Island for sale for $3.8 million

The island is off the north-west coast of Scotland.

A SMALL Scottish island has been put up for sale for STG2.5 million ($A3.82 million).

Tanera Mor is the largest and only inhabited island in the Summer Isles archipelago 1.5 miles off the north-west coast of Scotland.

The 800-acre island is currently managed by Lizzie and Richard Williams, who took it on from Mrs Williams' family, the Wilders.

The Wilders bought the island in 1996 after selling their dairy farm in Wiltshire.

Mrs Williams said it is time to give someone else the "privilege of looking after the amazing place".

Talks with the local community over a buyout were held but it has now been put on the open market.

Mrs Williams said: "After many happy years of calling Tanera home, it is time for someone else to have the privilege of looking after this amazing place.

"We hope that whoever owns the island in the future will enjoy the same warm and co-operative relationship with the community that we have for the past 17 years."

Estate agents CKD Galbraith described Tanera Mor as a "flourishing tourist enterprise and superb family residence", with a guide price of  STG2.5 million.

It has nine residential properties, a cafe, post office and three jetties.

The Block Sky High attracts 1.3 million

THE Voice has posted another monster ratings figure and The Block Sky High got off to a strong start last night.

Seven’s new drama A Place to Call Home dropped slightly as it gets set to face House Husbands next week.

The Voice averaged a super 1.925 million viewers nationally last night to easily capture the number one crown.

Nine’s talent show hasn’t hit the heights of last year when it averaged upwards of 2.7 million for some of the audition and battle round episodes.

The Voice has made up for that with consistency. It is hitting upwards of 1.9 million viewers every episode.

The launch episode of The Block Sky High averaged 1.312 million viewers.

Nine’s renovation show performed strongest in Melbourne (465,000) where this year’s series is set.

The Block Sky High’s big test comes on Tuesday when Seven rolls out rival House Rules.

“This is a very good solid launch,” media analyst Steve Allen says. “Tightening The Block up with none of the usual eliminations won’t give House Rules much wiggle room.”

Rival Sunday Night was no slouch. Seven’s current affairs show averaged a very healthy 1.238 million viewers against The Block.

A Place to Call Home averaged 1.18 million viewers last night – a strong result but a long way off the 1.768 million that tuned into the premiere episode a fortnight ago.

Last week, A Place to Call Home averaged 1.305 million viewers nationally.

Seven’s period drama faces a fresh test next Sunday when it goes head-to-head with House Husbands.

Nine is switching its family drama, with Gary Sweet and Gyton Grantley, from Mondays to Sundays.

Nine’s 60 Minutes: Flight 447, which investigated the crash of an Air France plane in 2007, averaged 1.312 million viewers last night.

Tyler spent $6 million on cocaine

THE word toxic sits fairly easily with Aerosmith lead singer and serial, on-stage acrobat, Steve Tyler.

The flamboyant 65-year-old frontman admits he has shovelled at least $5-6 million dollars worth of marching powder up his nose.

In an interview on 60 Minutes this Sunday night, reporter Liz Hayes tells Steve she'd heard around 20 million bucks worth of cocaine had seen the inside nostrils of the 'Demon of Screamin'.

"Realistically, 5 or 6," says Tyler. "But it doesn't matter. You also could say I snorted half of  Peru, but it doesn't matter."

Tyler, who had been sober for over 20 years, had a relapse with prescription meds in the late 2000's but was successful with treatment for that addiction in 2009.

Since coming clean, Tyler has been a judge on American Idol, always dressed in his signature flowing scarves, and says his relationship with fellow band member and guitarist, Joe Perry is back on track.

Known as the 'toxic twins', the pair reportedly had a falling out over Tyler's stint on Idol but their relationship mended after they started working together when Tyler quit the show. 

"We can still be toxic. We fight toxic and we play toxic," he said. 

60 Minutes will air on Channel Nine on Sunday night at 7.30pm.
