THE BATTLE between reality TV blockbusters The Voice and My Kitchen Rules continued to divide Australian audiences overnight, with one big loser, The Biggest Loser.

As The Voice took Tuesday night’s top spot with a narrow victory over My Kitchen Rules (1.892m to 1.674m), it was Ten’s weight loss series which shed the most viewers, plummeting to a dismal 382,000 people nationally.

Despite amping up the drama, with the introduction of this season's 'heavyweight’ contestants, Loser has failed in its bid to keep even a close third to Nine and Seven’s reality juggernauts.

The temporary elimination of MKR's provocative pairing of Sophia Pou and Joanna Stirn proved the best competition yet to The Voice, which had climbed above the 2million mark by the end of last week, since its slowish start on Logies night 10 days ago.

Loser's Tuesday night figures were almost half that of its series average of 748,000 viewers, with the Next Generation series lifting to 856,000 on Sunday night.

Seven have been strategic in dragging out its kitchen winner, filming extra episodes and introducing the second-chance 'Comeback Kitchen' as a way of keeping the pressure of Nine's Voice to perform.

MKR is expected to make the most of a silent night from The Voice to seize the top spot tonight, when the best teams left in the competition proper cook-off for a final 4 berth.

The Voice's blind auditions return on Sunday and Monday night, before the series' battle rounds begin on Tuesday evening.

The switch up to the battles will be music to the ears of those critical of The Voice coaches' blind audition outfits, worn across the four days and nights of the pre-recorded auditions so as to allow producers to edit the sessions into nine 'blind' episodes seamlessly.

In other TV news, Foxtel has confirmed today it has partnered with BBC Worldwide to launch a premium BBC channel, offering first-run British drama and comedy, ad-free and as close to UK transmission as possible.

The deal will also see the four existing BBC channels - UKTV, BBC Knowledge, CBeebies and BBC World News - continue on the Foxtel platform, while the five channels will now be also available on Foxtel GO at no extra charge to subscribers.

The announcement will come as a blow for the ABC, which has traditionally taken first rights on most BBC productions.

AS THE heaviest contestant to appear on The Biggest Loser around the world, Kevin Moore believes the reality show has saved his life.

The 27-year-old weighs the same as a fridge full of groceries for a family of four, and has a waist circumference of 266cm.

During the program last night, Moore weighed in at 254kgs.

He was told by doctors he would be dead by his 40th birthday if he continued eating an estimated 27,418 kilojoules (6553 calories) every day.

On an average day, he would skip breakfast but eat chicken schnitzel or a meat pie and chips for lunch, while downing two litres of calorie-laden fizzy drink. For dinner he would cook up to a kilo of mince to go with pasta and dish up portions twice the size he served to his girlfriend Julie Tran and her brother Henry, with whom he lives.

Then he would polish off another litre of fizzy drink, two bags of lollies and two ice creams, plus maybe a large bag of crisps.

Moore says there is no one to blame but himself for his weight gain, and believes the only psychological reason could be that he was told to eat everything on his plate when he was a child.

"Psychologically, now if I see a plate of food that hasn't been finished, I have to eat it," he says.

"It's been so my entire life. Every year I have got older, I have got bigger - nothing drastic has happened to trigger it. I was always a lazy kid, I am still lazy, but I'm trying to get out of that."

Moore's condition was so bad he had to sleep upright as he couldn't breathe when lying down - his body weight was literally suffocating him.

Making his debut on the Channel 10 show tonight, Moore says it was emotional getting on the scales in front of the other contestants. "I was very concerned about what the number would be. I walked into that room and there were people a lot smaller than me and they were on Biggest Loser," he says.

"I didn't feel too good about being the heaviest contestant in the show's history, considering we think America is the country with all the obese people."

Moore is taking part in the series with his mother Rosemary Reynolds, 54.

Since filming began last year, the call centre worker says one of his biggest achievements so far has been putting on his own socks, as well as using a smaller bath towel and being able to talk on the phone without getting breathless.

Moore's diet has now been completely revamped, ditching sugar and heavy carbs and instead including lean meat and vegetables. He also exercises every day.

"My partner is absolutely stoked, the quicker I can lose my weight the faster I can go travelling overseas with her, which we really want," he says. "The other great thing is with the way the menu's changed in the house, she has started losing weight as well."

PHIL and Amity's third bedroom "secret weapon" has won them the fourth room reveal of The Block: All Stars.

After coming back from being named "chumps" last week, scoring the lowest of all four teams, the pair said they were delighted to come off with a win.

"We're absolutely stoked to win our first room," Phil told news.com.au. "We took a very big gamble with that bedroom and it paid off."

The couple said they added as much as $100,000 to the value of their home by turning the formal lounge into a third bedroom.

Dubbed the "biggest week ever in the history of The Block," all four teams had to renovate not only the formal lounge room, but a hallway and a linen cupboard area.

"The formal lounge on it's own is bigger than either of the two front bedrooms, so just delivering that on its own would have been a challenge, but adding the hallway which goes on forever and a linen cupboard which you have to get right in there," Phil added.

"It was like three rooms in the one week which is absolutely horrific and saying that to actually win with that up against us makes it all the more better."

Viewers may have thought that Phil had an even tougher time nursing a hangover after overindulging at the Elton John concert - but he says all wasn't as it seemed.

"It looked on the show like I had a hangover. I had a few things to do after the show and missed out on some sleep but it wasn't as massive a night as it looked. I'm too old for that, it wasn't the case at all," he said.

Josh and Jenna have won two rooms so far and Mark and Duncan one, while Dan and Dani are yet to record a win.
