> Show that breaks the rules

Well, that is it, I am finished with My Kitchen Rules. I am sick of all the bitchiness, nastiness and the inconsistency of the judges each night. We all know that they have been given scripts and that they are following them to the letter. The catalyst for me, though, was watching Pete (I've had my teeth whitened) Evans, pushing the dessert on to his spoon with his fingers. Unbelievable! For heaven's sake, haven't any of these people seen a dessert fork! - J.D., email

Aunty Watcher (Switched On, March 6) has got it wrong. Please Like Me wasn't moved to ABC2 because of its lack of appeal to "a more conventional demographic"; it got shunted because the show just wasn't good enough. - No Like, email

> Footy Show kicks goals

The boys are back! It's great to have The Footy Show on again. I've been waiting so long for some good entertainment. Politically correct it ain't, but who cares? This show rates because of its down-to-earth Aussie humour. - Jazza, email

>Catering to core audience

So the ABC has moved Please Like Me to ABC2. Is that a surprise? Sorry Josh Thomas, but the ABC has always catered to the mainstream. Look at the shows it screens during prime time - The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Grand Designs, Midsomer Murders, New Tricks, Miss Fisher, to name a few. Perhaps it's not so much the gay theme of Please Like Me but more the fact that it does not appeal to the older, more conventional demographic that makes up the core of the ABC's audience. - Aunty Watcher, email

I think Today Tonight has been influenced by the success of Les Miserables, or maybe the producers are opera fans. The background music during the segments sounds more and more like a dramatic opera. Music has its place, but not during a current affairs program. - Ian, email

How many times do we see reality TV shows exploit contestants' vulnerability and emotional stress. I do not want to see anger and hostility. It rubs off on mainstream society. This explains why road rage exists and violent behaviour towards women happens. Let's bring back quality TV. - Rod, email

> Hot Seat format unfair

I have recently started watching Hot Seat and consider it a most unfair quiz contest. Potentially, the first contestant could answer 13 questions correctly, get the 14th question wrong and walk away empty-handed, while the next contestant has to answer just one question correctly to win $250,000. It is time the producers revised the format to make it fairer for all contestants. - Cedric, email

Can somebody explain why there are suddenly a whole lot of new ABC channels appearing on our television electronic program guide? You cannot open them, they have different channel numbers and there has been no promotion. Also, we live in hope that the ABC decides to broadcast some decent movies. - John, email

With Easter approaching, can I plead with TV programmers to consider putting on some appropriate film or documentary about the Jesus story on Good Friday or Easter Sunday evening at a reasonable time, rather than the standard broadcasting of some vacuous US Easter bunny-themed movie, in conjunction with a 30-minute Christian program covertly shown at midnight? - Peter, email
