PUNK rock icon John Lydon will consider legal action against a Melbourne publicist who spat in his sushi.

John Lydon, 57, most famously known as Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten, told Confidential: "It's a criminal offence and it's disgusting. People call me the bad bunny in all this, while some woman is spitting in my food. This might be a legal matter.''

Melbourne publicist Chrissie Vincent-James, who has worked with John Mayer, Pete Murray, and Tenacious D said she spat in Lydon's food because he was rude to her.

''The hotel had sent up all this food but Lydon wanted sushi. He kept ranting 'I want f----ng sushi'. He was being obnoxious to everyone. So I had to go and get him the sushi. And I spat in his sushi. And he ate it,'' she admitted.

Asked if he had a message for the sushi spitter, Lydon replied: "She needs to learn some manners. And then she might need to get a good lawyer.''

Lydon said he wanted to bury the hatchet with Carrie Bickmore after their spat on Channel 10 show, The Project.

'SHUT UP' JOHN LYDON'S SEXIST RANT TO CARRIE BICKMORE

He sparked a misogyny row by telling Bickmore to "'shut up'' during an interview, then added: ''Now listen, when a man is talking do not interrupt.''

Lydon said the satellite interview was chaotic and he wasn't allowed to finish a sentence.

"For me, it's a storm in a teacup. I'm a serious fella. She's a serious journalist. Let's kiss and make up,'' Lydon said.

Lydon and his post-punk band, Public Image Limited, played at Festival Hall, in Melbourne, last night.
